That's terrible! Same thing happened to my grandmother when she was younger. For their 18th birthday her parents gave her twins a gold watch. My grandmother got a pair of black socks. She was the unloved twin.

I'm a twin, and if my mom did that, I would be so angry. It's bad enough that my brothers each get three different cakes for their birthday, while my sister and I each get one (if we're lucky), but that is just ridiculous. Sorry. :(
