i wonder about the calling 911 thing. from watching court shows all the time, they really pound it into your head to call the police, so they can check out the scene, decide who's at fault, etc, even if no one's injured. but then when i had a minor accident and called, they said it was "non-reportable" since no one was injured, and left. you're bound to get in at least one accident at some point. even if you're a great driver, other people aren't. kinda sucks that your dad wouldn't come, but he was probably pissed that you wrecked the car and wanted you to handle it yourself.
you say 'first car accident' like it's a rite of passage
Suxs, was it totaled? i had mah first car crash this year on January 20th the car was totaled im under the age of 16 mah, mom was drivin DA OTHER *****EZ FAULT lol Hope ur alright
wow okay people: she says "first car accident" so we know that she's never been in an accident before and is unsure of what to do. she's not implying she plans on having other accidents or whatever else you all have suggested. secondly the "she-is-driving-therefore-should-be-able-to-deal-with-having-an-accident" point of view is understandable but driving doesn't necessarily mean you have the ability to deal with stressful situations. That's like saying "you are having sex so deal with the pregnancy" which ,yeah, that is how alot of people feel ,however, I don't think any of you would give that person shit for being scared or freaked out. Why? Because the situation is NEW something you have never experienced before and therefore do not know how to handle. Cut the girl some slack, geez.
FYL for being in an accident, but shouldn't expect people to jump out of their lives for it because they're commonplace. If you were calling him, you weren't injured enough to go to the hospital, and you can deal with the police. No reason for him to come except to reassure you.
#53 if ur mom was driving what does it have to do with this? not tryin to be a dick or anything, drivings a privilege and you should be an adult about it. stop expecting that your parents should drop whatever they're doing to come help you out. but really, the reason you got your full license to drive alone is to be independent. now be independent. would you have called your parents if your first car accident was actually 3 years later?
Its called taking responsibility, and parenting. Neither one is easy to do, Its not easy to sit back and make your kid deal w/ life... but your dad is doing you a favor. Its not easy for him either, and I'll bet mom is wishing she could just step in and deal w/ this for you..... it sucks, but no one said growing up was easy. One day you'll appreciate what dad said...even if its hard to take right now.
#7 wins
#58 fails
What's up with people bashing the OP for calling their parents? Parents are supposed to be there for their children no matter what. I feel sorry for all of your kids if/when you have them. to the OP: that really sucks. I hope you give him hell for it later. And as #1 said, no more fathers day present.
