If you put the lives of hundreds of people to the fate of YOUR hands steering a couple-ton heap of metal, you'd BETTER be able to take care of yourself.
In case of collision with another driver (for teen drivers): 1. Get the cars off the road, if possible. 2. See if anyone's hurt. 3. Call police. 4. Check car for damage, try to determine if it is still in operable condition. 5. Exchange information with other driver while waiting for police to arrive (if possible). 6. Call parents informing them of accident. Ask them to pick you up if your car can't be driven. 7. Once police arrive, answer questions and comply with instructions. 8. Decide what is to be reported to the insurance companies. 9. Wait for tow truck, if applicable. 10. Leave or wait for someone to pick you up. For future reference, don't expect your parents to come running just because you've had an accident. If your car is still operational, there's really no reason for them to come. One further thing: it's generally a good idea to call the cops even for a minor accident. People have been known to beat their cars up after an accident then report the other driver for a hit and run. At that point it's your word against theirs, but they've got a police report to back them up. Guess whose fault the accident becomes?
f#$k that! you can drive, you can deal with the accident on your own!
Wow, what the hell is wrong with all of you? Do you just find the need to tell anybody you can off to make you feel better? He's a kid, and it's his first accident. He's going to be distraught, he's going to want his parents to come. I know I did. Especially if it's big, there's going to be so much racing through his mind to think clearly. The really sad thing is most of you should be at least in your 20s and past the point where you would comment like that. Morons.
To 86: most parents would want to know simply because they are parents. If you had kids and they had an accident, wouldn't you want to know before they came tottering down the street in a crashed car? Parents should want to know and should want to help because parents are meant to be there for their children.
#10 you're so right xD
Maybe the OP called her/his parents to come pick him/her up. He/she isn't just going to stay there. They need a ride home. Gosh people. :l
