How is that fair?

Today, I found out I was passed over for the promotion I've wanted for 9 months at the fast food restaurant I work in. Who got the job? The 16 year old girl I trained 2 weeks ago. Their excuse was, "She has ambition." I'm going to college for food service management. She failed her drug test. FML

I'm imagining this 16 year old girl as Bon Qui Qui from the "King Burger" MAD tv sketch. If you've never seen it, go YouTube it.

I think it's time to find a new restaurant to work for.

You'll get there eventually...the point of her drug test she'll probably take another one fail it and lose her job...

Reminds me of "Ted." Have sex on a pile of produce in the back and be sure to be loud so that you get caught red handed. That'll get you that promotion for sure.

What a bunch of bull shit. You should get ahold of regional manager and lodge a complaint. Of course you will have to prove she failed her drug test. Boy I'd like to know where this place is so I could give her a hard time

Well I do hope that you finish up your schooling and get a position above her. That'd be awesome

File a complaint against them. If they dont listen Sue the company

it doesn't work like that..op would just have to pay court costs fees and would never win

Basically the same thing happened to me at Wendy's the girl getting my spot has been there 2 months and is dumb af :/

thats not a diss thats a compliment aim your goals and asspirations higher. That dumb girl will probably stay there forever getting over worked and underpaid. While you will go on to bigger and better things

Same things like that happens at my job too. But believe it or not, sorry to say, the ones that get the promotions are the ones with open flexible schedules that don't have "college" courses that interfere with their new duties to become a slave to that job.

That's a good point. It is fast food, and you're going to school, not done your degree. For all we know, you just finished your first semester. Or you're near completion, which would make you likely to quit and choose a restaurant that would hire someone with your degree. Though I'm not saying that makes it right.

Most states have child labor laws that restrict the number of hours a minor can work per week. Plus a 16 year old should be in school during the day. Unless she's a high-school drop out, then I can't see how her schedule would be more flexible then a college student's schedule.
