How? Why?

Today, I was faced with the inevitable horrible circumstances which lead me to put in a tampon on a moving city bus. FML

Natural bodily functions aren't gross but that doesn't mean they can't be unsanitary which is why people SHOULD wash their hands after dealing with bodily fluids whether it be blood, urine, or feces. It is, in fact, a health concern.

I need brain bleach after picturing this scenario.

Pads are better for situations such as these. And everyone saying do it later, some of us suffer from extreme flow and cant do it later, lest we look like victims of a stabbing in the nether regions.

The twist is, she's in Indiana so she was the only one on it.

Periods don't always come when they're supposed to...... She may have been caught by surprise.

I use pads myself.... However I have extremely heavy flows that sometimes leak out after a couple hours.

The diva cup is the best. You only have to change it every 12 hours and it's reusable.

#49 Hell yes cups are the most sanitary and least noticable out of pads (which are comparible to the feeling of wearing a diaper) or tampons (which can cause toxic shock syndrome if left in a bit too long) They definitely do not get the recognition they deserve.

#49 & #52, I've always wondered how one deals if they had to empty it in a public restroom. You're supposed to rinse it out between uses, right?

I'm with 52 in my opinion on cups; but not necessarily with 49. There's lots of awesome cups out there aside from Diva, and Diva can be too long for many women. Also, though you can go up to 12 hours before changing a cup; how often it needs to be changed depends on the individual. Cups are cleaner (once you get used to them), comfier, and healthier than tampons. They have more capacity and colored cups are quite cute! As for 22, you might want to try Domino Pads. They're reusable and come in lots of sizes and absorbencies. They're really soft and have awesome colors like blue, purple, and green- and they just make you feel so much comfier during that special type of hell us ladies go through every month.

58- We can clean a cup in the stall with a isopropyl alcohol wipe. Can't get much cleaner than that!

Get over it, 72. You're already perusing the comments on a post about periods.

Could have stuffed a few tissues down there... Or a pad. Which could have been like adjusting your jeans.

Tissues are way more messy depending on the flow.
