2 things: 1. I don't even know how to vote on this one. 2. "Boohoo! I received a substantial inheritance and people looked at me funny, **** my life!" Yeh, that sounds rough. I'll trade with you. I have no job, $26 in the bank and my water gets shut off on the 5th and my electric on the 3rd.
Write an FML to receive some sympathy then.
And some people are starving to death or slowly dying of disease. What's your point? Most of the posts on here are relatively minor/harmless. You don't see a bunch of people posting their problems on other people's posts because they can't stand not being the center of attention do you? Everyone knows it could be worse. It can always be worse. Someone always has it worse. Stop begging for attention.
It had nothing to do with wanting attention. I was going through an incredibly rough patch, and this FML hit a sore spot, especially since it wasn't an FML at all.
I find it stranger that they had a will reading, that's something thats done for dramatic effect on TV and in films. When writing our wills, the lawyer told us of a lady who wanted everyone dragged in so they could have a 'will reading' like on TV. You never know, it could have been this lady.
Exactly what leads me to believe the family were extra awful people- so terrible that she requested they be present to find out they're getting nothing. If she wasn't dead, she's the kind of person I'd want to take out for a beer!
Awww, that's awkward. But it was the woman's choice, and unless you blackmailed her into leaving you something, her family has no right to judge. Besides, maybe they weren't that close and/or treated her like crap or something and didn't deserve anything regardless of the situation with you.
I clicked you deserve it because you do. She ran you over. It's her choice. And she's just trying to make right with you. Enjoy OP!
What did you get?
Screw some family you've never met, you've got 50k and a car!

Just because they were family doesn't mean she had a good relationship with them. There was quite likely a good reason she did what she did. If they ARE awful people, extra points to her for making them be present while they got nothing!
She should've left you the car.
