I don't wanna…

Today, my spineless shitwhip of a boss made me go fire a notoriously abusive employee. I had to act like firing him was my decision, even though I'm the secretary. Now I get to live in constant fear that the guy was serious when he threatened to find out where I live and kill me. FML

You could always file a police report or restraining order

Just file a police report if you start finding anything amiss

killing someone? thats illegal people cant do that

All comments focus attention to the threat (ugly and illegal) but why nobody notices that it was the stupidity of the OP in the first place that started the shit - why pretend it was a secretary's decision to fire somebody? Delivering boss' decision would have been easier on both sides. Plus the threat would have gone to the right person, let him deal with it thats why he is the boss. "Don't shoot the messenger" remember.

I'm sure he knew it wasn't your decision seeing though you just the secretary

That's what secretaries are for, isn't it?

1. Report your boss to HR or whoever at your company is higher up than him. You are 110% NOT responsible for doing his job, period, the end, regardless of what your job is. He put you in a dangerous situation because he was afraid of someone, and that's unacceptable. 2. Report the death threat to the police. Get a restraining order. That threat was absolutely a crime and should be treated as such.

Hostile work environment. Go to hr and tell them you are going to file a police report.

I would strongly advise getting a restraining order and filing a police report. We had a similar situation at my place of business, except I really did fire her- so she broke out the window to my car and slashed my tires... People are crazy, and desperate even more so. Always lean toward caution.

talk to hr about what your boss made you do and also call the police and report his threat.

Take that death threat seriously and take it to the police, OP. Threatening death because he was fired is not okay, and he needs to learn that all while keeping yourself safe.
