It's in the fine print

By fuckkkkk - This FML is from back in 2015 but it's good stuff - United States - San Francisco

Today, after getting my dream job and quitting my old one, I was told my position is strictly "experimental" and will only last 2 months. FML

Experimental often becomes permanent if things go well. Just work hard and you may be kept on. Good luck OP.

Sounds like your temporary future boss likes hiding stuff in the fine print. Good luck finding another new job in the next two months.

try doing an awesome job so the experiment is a success and they want to keep you

From what I understand of US employment laws, this could be cause for you to sue him. I don't know your specifics, but if this wasn't disclosed before your employment by this company, then they may breaching a contract (wether it was verbal or on paper) because you left your old job for this one (there is a legalese name for this). Your best bet is to talk to an attorney that specializes in HR and employment- many will give you a free consultation, just call around.

Did you not check the terms or receive a contract first before quitting your last job. What exactly is this dream job anyway ? Best of luck for the future

experimental for 2 months often is like the probation period, if you do well they may keep you on. good luck! :)

your boss is bastard for not telling you that .. good luck OP

I never new dreams have expiry date. Good luck OP. WIth hard work you can change their minds

Classic example of, "look before you leap."
