It's your place. Take control and be proud of your accomplishments. You can come and go as you damn well please. Your life, your rules. Screw everyone else. If she doesn't like that you're coming in past her bedtime, well to bad. She can deal.
So you're sneaking into you're own place...?
You taught her how to behave. the moment you let her needs over weigh yours you taught her its ok. Yes it will be hard to say no and sounds like she needs someone, so if you feel guilty, ask about her children and contact them, guessing that will go nowhere then contact the county or State agency and see if she can get a caregiver in once a week. My sister has one. Good Luck
If she's worse than your Mother I can see why you need to sneak but still it shouldn't really be necessary
this is a bad habit you need to break it
I have this same issue. the old lady that lives next to me is nice, but super annoying, and she makes it a point to flag me down every time she sees me outside (she leaves her curtains/blinds open all day, so she can see when I come and go, and I have to walk past that window in order to go downstairs). every time she flags me down, she's begging me to buy her things with my foodstamps (im disabled and unable to work). I don't want to be rude to her, but I don't want to talk to her either

if you can move out and live on your own you can handle an old lady
