Stupid mistake but YDI. Put some initiative into your search by calling them to let them know that they have your app.
This sort of thing is part of why I am so exasperated by people who refuse to answer calls from "unknown" numbers.
If you're intruding on my time and aren't willing to state who you are up front, why should I answer?
Because it might be regarding something important like it was in this very example. Did you skip to the comments without reading the post first? Glad to see you taking a stand for your principles, though. How DARE they have a job offer for your kid without magically imbuing you with foreknowledge of their call first? Clearly they should just use the "psychically transmit full content and context of call to recipient" button on their phones.
And that is /exactly/ what voice mail is for. So that I can deal with the intrusion on my time at /my/ convenience. If you're not willing to state up front where you're calling from, you can wait. Period.
YDI. It's 100% your fault for not double checking. I wouldn't want to hire you if you are that irresponsible
I've applied to over 20 places since I turned 18 to try to get money for college (I live in the middle of nowhere, so some of these places were up to 40 minutes away) and I got a call from one place (Sonic) who was absolutely desperate for people because the managers were stealing tips so people kept quitting. It's the only job I could get out of 20 other fast-food level jobs. I had open availability, all the places were hiring, and I have my own transport and no criminal record. Do not talk to me about not being able to find a job. I don't want to know how long it'll be after I graduate college until I find something better than McDonalds.
The bad news is that with the current job market you could be working at McDonalds even after you graduate!
And that's why you pay attention to details.
Why would she think they were telemarketers if the were asking for you. Wouldn't she have said something about you getting phone calls?
I personally quadruple-check my resumes before I send them out. Contact information is one of THE most important things. It sucks, but you should know better.
You need your own phone...or just get a go phone until you get a job...
At least there were calls!!!!

If we've learned one thing on this site, it's always double check your resume!
Ah honest mistake, maybe try double checking your information next time! Fyl, OP!
