Speaking as a landlord myself, OP--what she is doing is very much illegal. She may own the property but if you look in the contract under rental agreements I am sure you will find something about your right to privacy. Though bring it before any court and they will ask--why didn't you move? It is always a grey area where rented property is concerned. But if she is making you feel unsafe. Be careful where the kids are conerned because if they are busting in on you showering then she can accuse you of all kind of stuff. I would never even think of doing what your landlady is doing. Sure, I check up from time to time but I always call ahead, at reasonable hours and I always knock, even though I have the key. The only time I would not use the key is when I have to do electrical checks and she is out...but again, I always say that I have been and I never move or touch anything. Check your contact and move out.
49, I hope you give them 48 hours before those "electrical checks", because if not that's STILL illegal.
88, it may be still illegal but surely if the electrical checks were a serious issue that suddenly arose, and required urgent attention then surely 48 hours is a bit of a wait if there's something possibly endangering the tenants and landlord themselves.
That's not the issue, here… OP shouldn't have to, anyway!
You should definitely begin looking for another place to live, and because what they're doing is illegal, the breach of contract (if there is one) on your end should be acceptable. That'll ensure that you get any security deposit back as well as keeping her from suing for the remainder of the contract.
Don't move out of the house! Move the house! You won't be locking the doors . . . you'll be moving the doors. You won't be denying her entry . . . she just has to find the house first! It's a perfect plan! Bwa ha ha ha ha! Oh, and invest in a cheap opaque shower curtain. ;) ciao!
Thata actually illegal.

No. No it's not okay. If I'm not mistaken that's illegal for her to do.
Put a chair in front of the door. That will keep them out. It's not a lock...
