Dude, I am not even going to pass judgement on this one, because we are clearly not getting the whole story. There are any number of things, completely unrelated to you, that could have been the cause of her "reaction".
I lived in New Jersey for a year. Throwing up and crying hysterically means "yes." I learned this the hard way when I got lost there and asked a Jersey girl if she knew the way to Bayonne.
I had the same thing happen when I asked a toll worker directions to Trenton. Her name was Jim.
could be nervous excitement... that really sucks
Did you make her drunk?
Maybe she got too nervous?
Um... she could have already been sick, she could have been so taken aback that she became sick, or perhaps something else (nothing's coming to me at the moment, but there's probably more). Crying hysterically could also be a number of things. It could be more about being taken aback. It could also be elated joy manifested in some strange way, though perhaps not entirely surprising since she did just blow chunks all over you. You won't know until you ask. Of course, it could be exactly as you say, but to presume that just because it didn't jive with what you expected is completely asinine (unless you have damn good reason). Your story lacks several key components actually be all that understandable. In fact, the only thing that your story would appear to imply so far is that you're a presumptuous asshole and that you don't know when to shut up, else you just might look smart for a change. Considering that, perhaps you really weren't ready to propose yet. Given your general demeanor, she might even deserve someone better than you. In absence of a legibly sane story teller, I would say that response #1 probably should've been to ask her what's wrong, response #2 should have been to ensure she's okay, and after that, reasonable discussion at an acceptable pace (for her) about what you, she, or the both of you should be doing may have possibly worked. Now quit acting like an ass and either explain yourself or just don't bother at all. [edit] BTW, if you're curious, I clicked neither FML nor YDI. Want to know why? It's not apparent whether it's one, the other, or perhaps even none.
You proposed to your girlfriend IF 4 years?
Was she drunk? that may have had something to do with it. and I he was, why th hell would you propose to her in an inebriated state?
she prob was embaressed about throwing up when u proposed that she cried I kno I cried when my fiancee proposed it happens

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't girls usually cry when they get really happy? Maybe puking and crying are her ways of saying yes. Odd creatures these females are.
first, why did she throw up? second technically that wasnt a 'no'. maybe you just caught her on a bad day...bad timing??
