ydi for not calling your bank and putting your account on hold
Man, if that dude did it on purpose, he's got to be the most awesome troll ever.
Ooooh! Could you send me one of those "freebie" booklight things that came with them please? I'd appreciate it. =p BTW, what do you mean by "finally?" Just how long has it been missing anyway? If you lose your card for any significant length of time, it's smarter to close the account right away, since the possibility of identity theft is much worse than simply having to set up a new account. It's even more recommendable considering the fact that it's harder to get fraudulent usage problems fixed with bank accounts than it is with, say, credit cards.
This same thing happened to me a couple years ago! My bank called me to tell me that they had noticed a whole bunch of strange purchases on my debit card and wanted to find out if I had made them. I hadn't, so i cancelled my debit card. Then, a whole variety of different boxes and packages started showing up at my house. There were children't books from scholastic (i don't have kids), coffee (i hate coffee), cookbooks, beauty products, PC Wizard, etc. What was really strange was that some of the boxes were from sketchy infomercial type companies like PC Wizard...while others were from reputable companies like scholastic and seattle coffee. The next thing I had to do was call each of those businesses (there were about 20 of them) and tell them what had happened. Some of them were nice and reimbursed my account....some of them did not. Some of them let me keep the stuff, and some of them didn't. (In case you were wondering, i ended up with several cookbooks and a box of specially flavored coffee). I also remember having to file a TON of paperwork with my bank. In the end, I got all my money back except $50. (That company refused to give my money back and the bank failed to prove that that purchase was fraud). So...this sort of thing really does happen! To this day, I have no idea if it was someone playing a really mean and twisted joke on me or if my debit card number was stolen by some idiot on the internet. So...good luck with sorting your mess out!!
Whoever stole and maxed out your debit card needs to get their ass kicked, solely for buying Snuggies after seeing those infuriatingly corny commercials. If he bought them purposely to send them to you, he sucks for turning free money into a joke.
What are snuggies? I've never even heard of them. *Consults Google*
Oh my God! They are appalling and it's odd how they look like priest's robes :|
