Meat is murder

Today, my fiancé's parents visited. I keep chickens for their eggs, and his parents own a farm, so we had a connection. They told us to leave the house while they cooked us dinner. When we returned, we faced two steaming plates of chicken. My chickens. They had names. FML

#24, and everyone making similar comments, don't be so ignorant, citing that food chain crap. It's not that the animals die, it's how they are treated while they are alive and how they are killed that is so appalling, not to mention that meat consumption is detrimental to the environment. Try doing a little research.

Only one eighth of our teeth are canine, people. >_> And they're too far away from each other to be used in tearing a animal apart, and even still our teeth can't handle too much force anyway. A little meat won't kill you, but it isn't what our digestive systems are made for. Fruits and veggies FTW

and # 24 why are you so ignorant? there's nothing wrong with being vegetarian. i'm a vegetarian but im not all "IM GONNA SAVE THE PLANET FROM DESTRUCTION" i just dont believe in eating animals im not apposed to meat eaters, because they have their views and i have mine. im not trying to make you be veggie, but please at least be a little more considerate, and a little less ignorant. thanks.

Are you a complete idiot?! I really doubt the OP actually ATE the dinner. She was probably too upset/furious considering they were her ******* PETS. If someone killed and cooked my dogs, I sure as hell wouldn't think "Oh, that sucks, but hey! Dinner smells good!" I hope the OP took plate of chicken and buried her pets. Make the asshole parents feel like crap.

um... yeah the situation sucks, but you really can't hold it against them, they're farmers and part of that lifestyle is raising and butchering animals for food. Nothing wrong with being vegetarian or not, just a difference in diet regardless of the commonality of lifestyle. Simple misunderstandings happen. P.S. people like 24 are the leaders in why there is so much hostility between vegie and non vegie... food for thought
