Today, my fiancé's parents visited. I keep chickens for their eggs, and his parents own a farm, so we had a connection. They told us to leave the house while they cooked us dinner. When we returned, we faced two steaming plates of chicken. My chickens. They had names. FML

Today, while I was staying at a farm for a few nights, I got really connected to a chicken I met. It was so tame and really cuddly. I legit loved it so much. Later on, we had chicken for dinner. It was the same chicken. He also had a name. FML

Today, I was invited by my boyfriend's parents for dinner at their house. The dinner went well I thought, until I was getting ready to leave. Before I could make it out the front door, I could hear them discussing their disappointment that their son would ever consider someone like me. FML

I am really sorry to hear about the loss of your beloved pets. I know someone whose cat was killed on purpose. So I can imagine how you feel. Whatever you do, don't blame your fiance.

It's actually quite possible to slaughter, prepare, and cook live chickens within the span of a few hours. To prepare a whole bunch takes more time, though. My grandparents live on a farm and the last time my mom visited them, they slaughtered a hen and made stew out of it the same afternoon.

Who would kill someone else's animals without asking? I eat meat, and if someone killed my laying hens (providing I had some) I'd be PISSED.

they told you to "leave the house so they could make dinner" this is bs for sure. you can't kill a chicken and have to ready to be eaten in a short amount of time like that. FAKE!

i'd NEVER forgive them. i'm so sorry for you, really :( and poor chickens. i once had pet rabbits and one day my gramps just slaughtered them and served them as dinner :''( !!! (i'm vegetarian as well. my family ate them!)
