I don't think you should break up with him, in all honesty, that text didn't really sound like fatherly love. But idk, he'll come around.
If the parents are divorced and she lives with the mom, it makes sense. He'll be in the city, he hopes to be able to see his baby girl. All normal there, nothing creepy. What's creepy is the BF reading her texts, wtf.
I'd say YDI or FYI depends on what exactly happened. If he immediately bolted out the door, then FYI. If he gave you thirty seconds to explain, then YDI for not showing him the phone number where the text came from.
Ohio is for Lovers, ya know
Well, it doesn't say he dumped you, just that he left. So I'm assuming you've had a chance since then to talk to him and show him who sent the text message, and assuming he isn't a complete moron, he should've understood, right?
Uh, I'm 21 and my dad calls me "baby"... Let me get this straight: a father referring to someone who literally WAS at one point his baby is creepy, but referring to a significant other, possibly someone who you have sex with, as your "baby" is completely ok? Sorry but that's like saying a grown woman is weird for calling her father "Daddy" but when she calls her boyfriend that its completely cool.

Ouch, that sucks! He should have given you a chance to explain :( Seriously, who pressed "YDI"? How does she deserve that in any way?
That just seems weird that your dad says "Hey Baby"... But still, not really a FYL. Show him the sender; he'll be apologizing like crazy.
