Today, I listened as my ridiculously wealthy friend excitedly rambled on and on about her latest shopping trip. This is the same friend who owes me £150, and accused me of being insensitive for asking her to repay it at some point. FML

Today, I politely asked my friend if she would repay me the £20 she owes me. She shouted at me, called me an insensitive bitch, and refuses to pay me back as apparently she can't afford to. Her holiday to Italy next week begs to differ. FML

Today, my friend won’t pay me back the money I lent her. I stupidly lent her $1200. She’s calling me an “inconsiderate bitch” because I “have a good paying job, I’ll be alright.” FML

Today, I thought I was doing a nice thing when I spent hundreds of dollars to get my friend a plane ticket home. She yelled at me when I gave it to her. Turns out, she planned on spending a few more months freeloading off me. FML

Today, strapped for money, I asked one of my good friends to loan me some. She said no, because she’s broke herself. I later see her checked in on NOBU, a high class, expensive restaurant, on Facebook and she’d bought a new designer purse and shoes with the hashtag #TreatYourself. FML

Scammers all the way down

Today, and for the past 2 years, my aunt has owed me money. She just admitted that she fell for a scam, and gave the scammer more than double the amount I'd loaned her. I felt bad for her… until I realized something. When I asked how she had it to give to them, but not to pay me back, she got mad and hung up on me. FML

Today, I asked my coworker to pay back the $100 I'd loaned her when she fell on hard times. She’s owed me for almost a year now, and she always said she’d pay me back “Next week.” She responded by telling HR that I was “harassing” and “threatening” her. FML

Today, I asked my friend, once again, to pay me back the $500 she owes me. She got annoyed and told me, “I told you, my Cash App locked me out of my account!” When I mentioned Venmo, she said she'd forgotten her password to it, called me a "selfish c*nt", and hung up on me. FML

i've learned from experience that it's much harder to get money from a wealthy person than it is in poor people. it's weird, but true.

That might be because poor people know what it's like to be poor and in need of money, while some(keyword SOME) rich people think that everyone has the amount of money they have, if said rich person is a stuck up idiot, or they could be greedy. Not every rich person is like that though. I'm middle class, so I'm kind of an in-between.

If you loan a friend or family member money, consider it gone. If they pay it back that's great, but don't expect it.

See i don't see what's wrong with loaning money to a friend you just have to make sure you KNOW they are someone who will pay it back, I leant a friend £400 I still got it back and we're still friends. FYL though for it but if she is supposed to be rich she shudnt need to be lent cash anyway

I was thinking of that (Step 3 would have been ????), but one of the secrets of amassing wealth is stealth. I'm remind of a quote by Edgar Bronfman, "To turn $100 into $110 is work. To turn $100 million into $110 million is inevitable." With that, you don't need to talk about the profit ;)
