Never grow old

By Crystal - 08/03/2010 21:35 - United Kingdom

Today, I showed my fiancé the darling Tinkerbell hoodie I'd bought myself during the weekend. Instead of liking it as I'd hoped, he told me my childish wardrobe was embarrassing, and he wasn't going to be seen in public with me until I wore something different. FML

Most people who generalize are douchey bigots.

Guess that means he doesn't want to be your Peter Pan.

And if he bought himself a "darling" Dumbo or 101 Dalmations sweatshirt, what would you think? I thought it was illegal for 12 year olds to marry. Just saying.

I'd have to see her wardrobe before I started throwing stones. I guess it would depend on the shirt. I have a Kermit the Frog hoodie, but I only wear it around the house or if I'm fishing. I mean the fish don't care what I wear. However I'm kind of wondering why he would ask her to marry him if he was so embarrassed by her. I seriously doubt he proposed to her and she suddenly went "childish" on him. Thankfully my fiancé doesn't really care what I wear. He's marrying me, not my clothes. To add to this I've heard several people in the U.K. say darling and yes they were adults.

I live in the UK and trust me, outside of Enid Blyton novels it isn't the norm. Unless you're friends with the Famous Five?

The famous five? The the power of five series by Anthony Horowitz? is that what you mean? cause i like that series.

Google Enid Blyton, Famous Five. It's a series of novels about some very annoying children and a dog.

Oh, ok. I don't live in da UK so I don't know.

I just love how FML is so anti-inner child. 8|

The only woman I've ever seen wearing Tinkerbell anything are white-trash ***** or fat black woman. Seriously, like old t-shirts or racing jackets. I have a small collection of cute t-shirts including two of Ariel from 'The Little Mermaid', a 'Power Rangers' one, a 'Hello Kitty' one, and a 'Yo Gabba Gabba' one. I'm also 21-years-old and also manage to dress like an adult on a daily basis. My boyfriend told me he thought my 'Ariel' t-shirt was endearing.

Where does it say the OP dresses this way normally? Also, who are you to judge someone when you also wear clothing that could be considered "immature". I'm afraid I must declare your post full of fail, and request that you stfu and gtfo. =[

I think I love you and want to adopt you as my third child. XD

I'm really confused why my comment got removed? I wasn't judging the OP, and I was saying I have a small collection of novelty tees that would also be considered childish. I just have never seen Tinkerbell worn by anybody that looked classy. I think some of the t-shirts from suppliers such as 'Hot Topic' of cartoon characters can be worn in a silly, tongue-in-cheek way. I would like an administrator from the site to explain why my comment was modified and in what way in violated the rules.

Oh, and by the way, I assumed from the comment her fiancé made regarding her childish wardrobe, that this was in fact, a common way for her to dress. Whereas I have at most five t-shirts, out of more than 70 articles of clothing, it appears that the OP has more than the normal amount of childish clothing and needs an intervention with "What Not to Wear" immediately. I used myself as an example to show that having a few articles of clothing with a Disney princess or comic book character is ok, unlike what some of the other commentators on this site believe , but that an excessive amount, like the OP, is not ok.

Your comment wasn't modified at all; merely moderated. Since it was the work of another moderator, I can only guess why it was moderated. I'm going to assume it was because of the "white-trash ***** or fat black woman" part, which quite obviously violates the commenting rules, even if we assume there was no racism intended there, therefore it was moderated. In any case, please make these kinds of enquiries directly next time, via either the support email address, or by private message to a moderator. Thanks.

I agree it is childish adn no woman over 18 should wear stuff like that!!!!

Tinkerbell's lame. She tried to kill Wendy, and the bitch doesn't even talk. I happen to be obsessed with the Little Mermaid though. I've heard it in 33 languages, I have stickers, posters, pencil cases, and yes, I'm over 13 and am in a stable relationship with a guy who doesn't find it childish. The Little Mermaid is the best godamned movie in the whole godamned world, godamnit!

They've actually redone Tinkerbell in her own movie, and she does talk now. I totally agree about The Little Mermaid though. :D

As long as she isn't obese and wearing a Tweety Bird shirt, it's fine.
