Fake. In real world business environment, caller will ALWAYS address the person. Even if the lawyer think OP is his mom, it is rude not say "hi/good afternoon Mrs xxx".
Well he could've said, "Hello?" And the lawyer assumed he was his mother and said, "Good afternoon (name of mother)" and just continued on with the details, thus he didn't have to say another word. He could've kept quiet and just not have said anything. That's always a possibility.
People ALWAYS mistake me for my mom, so now when they say "Hello" and if I recognize the voice, I immediatly say who I am. But in the beginning I dind't have that reflex, so sometimes people would just talk and talk before I had the chance to point out their mistake. Anyway, FYL for learning about your parents' divorce that way. Don't worry about your voice, it will deepen. Also, you sound like a woman, but it will change. I sound like my mom for those who know her, but for strangers I sound like a child (strangely, my mom doesn't. How is THAT fair???) So I often hear "Why hello there, is your mummy or your daddy home, please?" I'm 19 for god's sake.
FYL: finding out about your parents' divorce like that isn't really nice YDI: for not leting the lawyer know you weren't your mum straight away. Hold your head up though kid, you'll be alright. Speaking from experience your views on relationships and marriage might suffer, but your parents will ulitimately always be there for you, but they just won't be living together. Whatever you feel thought, don't bottle it in. Speak to someone about it and you'll be fine.
Divorces suck. FYL. Except with me, my mum told and then i had to watch my dad buy a 23rd anniversary present. FML.
I to had a exeptional grammer at the age of 13
*too. Dumbass.
ohohohohohohohohohohohohoh. & It's spelt grammar. (:
you did at the age of 13 but its all gone down hill lol
Don't worry 'bout the voice thing, everyone sounds weird on the phone. The divorce thing on the other hand...I hope it goes better than my parents! I'm up to devorce number two and my mum wouldn't even go to my graduation because my dad would be in the same room! Good luck.
Yeah, I know that people under 9 go on here.
YDI because you're the reason your parents are spliting up.
thats so mean!
that's really cruel the poor little fella is probably feeling awful as it is and then you come along and tell him that it is his fault !!!! Do you feel proud of yourself for saying that to a 13 year old boy ??? you are pathetic.
Actually I do. They should've aborted him when they had the chance, but oh well. Now look what's happening. Way to **** things up.
Do something about those WONDERFUL grammar skills of yours and we will continue this conversation.
what the hell is wrong with you. you dont sound big and bad. you sound like a dick.
I remember one time this guy called and my mom picked up. He thought she was one of the kids, so he asked her to speak to her dad. Her dad passed away, and thats what she told him. I don't think he called much after that...

Congratulations, you're a thirteen year old boy on the internet and you're using correct grammar. Your life isn't ******; you still have a future.
That sucks, but your voice ought to deepen eventually.
