This happens to a lot of us: second guessing whether or not you've done something is common. I always panic thinking I left my straighter on. Better safe than sorry!
Actually that could reflect a mild case of obsessive compulsive disorder (the anxiety disorder, not the personality one that everyone always seems to refer to). If it's something that agitates OP often it could be a "tick" and they may want to talk with someone about it. Or it could just be that OP is forgetful... If it wastes anywhere near two hours though a system would be a good idea...
At least you're concerned and you're not one of those people who couldn't care less about their workplace.
OCD, much? But seriously, locking up when leaving work is one of those things where it's better to be safe than sorry so no need to feel bad.

You guys, it's not Alzheimer's or OCD or anything. All humans experience the phenomenon known as douchebag brain. Douchebag brain is the main source of short term forgetfulness, for example: you walk into a room and immediately don't know what you are looking for, or, it makes you always remember to lock your car (or in this case, business) but can't remember if you actually did it or not. We all get it guys...
