Oh no…

Today, in my second year at university, I took a pregnancy test. It's the only test I've passed all month. FML

Not to sound harsh but maybe had you been studying rather than out having sex, you wouldn't be in this situation.

Hmmm wonder why? Maybe because you were studly-ing instead of studying. Maybe try to pay attention to your classes and keep your legs shut.

Ugh, stop jumping to conclusions. We don't know the situation- she might be failing tests because she finds college difficult. She might be pregnant because she had sex once with someone she's been with for a long time.

Agreed with 123. She might have only had sex once. Why not keep your mouth shut? None of us know the full story, but there's many possibilities other than her sleeping around rather than studying. Even when I was in High School, I had trouble taking tests just because of the pressure. Lots of kids are like that.

Close your legs and open your books. Education is so important. You will now need to study harder then ever before because distractions are going to be of plenty.

Close her legs? It's possible that her sex life isn't even messing with her school life. Maybe she is just having trouble with school.

Most student unions, RA's and health clinics have a variety of forms of birth control you can take for free. Maybe you should stock up next time.

shaming people for not being virgins is really ******* stupid

Getting real tired of this "close your legs" bullshit. Girl having a rough time doesn't give anyone a right to start trying to control her sex life. Is a raw deal, though, OP. You need to figure out studying methods that work for you - or if your current program is where you even want to be - and you need to make some decisions about that test. Best call is probably to get it taken care of, unless you've actually got a partner ready to support a kid.

If you're having more sex than study time I think you know whether you belong in college or not.

Who said she had more sex than she was studying? For all we know, she could be studying every night and still failing and only had sex one time.

I have a friend who pretty much did a complete 180 once she found out she was having an unwanted pregnancy. She was only 19, and before the fact, she was a chain-smoker, did ungodly amounts of drugs, dropped out of high school, became a distant friend, and was all-around unhealthy, overweight, you name it. As soon as she found out she was pregnant, she quit everything, cold turkey. With her mother's good graces, she was able to have a healthy boy, lose 50 pounds, go to college, finish a nursing program, and get a job in a practicing office (I just talked to her a few days ago, and she's still doing well). The point is, if you have the motivation to change your life (namely, getting better grades and graduating), it can be done, even with a kid on the way. You just need to step forward with your responsibilities and consequences and chalk it up to life experience. Here's hoping your parents are understanding and resourceful.

Keep your legs shut and those text books opened!
