Today, my mother-in-lawyer threatened to sue me unless I took my professional wedding photographs off Facebook, as she didn't like that they made her look fat. She is over 300 pounds. FML

You can use a feature on Facebook that blocks a certain person from viewing a specific picture. Try that maybe?

Do what I did when my aunt complained about the photos I posted on Facebook of our Christmas family gathering... simply cut her out from those who can see the photos and make it a verbal agreement to all those who can see it to not tell her. Works like magic!

Think of it like this OP, would you rather be sued by her ...or Sat on by her ...???

I'm sorry your mother in law is an idiot op

That's the good old US of A (United States of Attorneys)

I would understand being upset if they were candid shots. I had some really awful pictures taken of me at a birthday party once. But I just asked the girl to remove them and she did. But posing for wedding pictures and then asking for them to be removed is stupid. If you stood there for the hour or so it took to get all the shots, then you have no reason to complain

Tell her it's not the pictures that make her look fat, it's her fat that makes her look fat.

crop her fat ass out of the pictures then. but I don't think she can sue just bc she thinks she looks fat in the pictures. she's just threatening.

If you paid for the photos, then they are your property and therefore you are free to disperse them in the manner you choose. Have your new husband/wife talk to their mom about what is and is not appropriate behavior. It's best to start off boundaries with the in-laws early on. If your mother-in-law is trying to bully you now, it will only get worse. Stand up to her (via your spouse) and nip this in the bud.

What exactly could she sue you for?
