You don't seem to have read Alan's post correctly. If I said "I broke up with my girlfriend", it MAY mean I did the dumping, but then again it could easily mean SHE did instead. But granted, it was ambiguous.

You have a good point; I was just saying a lot of people would say "I broke up with her" instead. It wouldn't be grammatically correct to say "we broke up" in the FML without completely rewriting the first half. Still, it's fixed now, so it's all good ;)
