Running gag

Today, I was jogging in my neighborhood when I saw a kid's ball roll over to where I was jogging. I stopped, grabbed the ball for the kid and went to hand it to him. He then yelled, "Stranger danger!" and his parents came sprinting out. I had to explain the story to the police for 30 minutes. FML

Well, he's safe at least. What a brat. I blame the parents for giving him fear without intelligence.

That's what you get for being a considerate person.

hahahah.. i'm sorry but thats just ****** up. our society's been ****** up. Now, you can't even go and be a nice person any more?? **** this man! Seriously WTF people? Seriously???????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would have laughed if the poster had started pointing back at the kid and screamed Stranger Danger back at him, then curled into a fetal position and started crying and shaking when the parents showed up.

In some ways I think the child has been taught to be too paranoid, but I guess I personally would rather my daughter be a little too paranoid than too trusting and end up getting taken by someone. There are some very sick people out there. What I don't get is why the parents called the cops? Why couldn't they have handled the situation themself? Better yet, why wasn't one of the parents outside keeping an eye on the child? To the OP, I guess next time instead of trying to hand a child their toy, try to kind of toss it at their feet. Then again, I can sort of see an FML result from this as well. "Today, I tried to return a child their ball by tossing it to them, because I didn't want the child to scream "Stranger Danger" if I attempted to hand it to them.....I ended up hitting the kid in the face with their ball because they ran towards me just as I tossed it. FML"

I'll even say that "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished", and that a life fact. It also happens to be one of my fravorite song from Wiked. RI

Should've just kicked it the other way.

I'd bet every penny I have that you're a man. Cops would have never harassed you if you were a woman.

People are far too paranoid. That kid is far more likely to be raped by one of his family than a stranger.
