Argh, your life sucks because that's money that's been dedicated to you but does not necessarily belong to you and your mom, however morally wrong, is actually her money and it would be rude to challenge her for using what's hers but that suuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.... Unless that money actually was your money in which there's no moral confusion, that's wrong. And that sucks too. And you should be able to get some help with that.
Depending on the way your college fund is set up, your mom could get in massive legal trouble for taking that money out and using it. I have a college fund and while I can take money out whenever I want, I have to be able to prove at tax time that all of the money was used for tuition, books, etc. If you can't prove that, the IRS can go after you, and it's not fun. Sorry your mom stole from you OP! Try to get the account put in your name only so she can't access it!
Okay. To set this straight. If this was a college fund not funded by a parent then it’s a protected account and parents can’t just mice money at will. Courts are involved. If it’s a shared bank account then mom has as much rights as the child to do what they wish EXCEPT the child can’t touch the money without a parents permission. So here’s to hoping it was the first type and OP can get the funds back!
