Scammed

Today, after a little detective work, I found out the money that recently went missing from my college fund was transferred by my mother, to her own account. She claims it's to pay a parking ticket. Maybe I'm just stupid, but I didn't know they fined people over $3,500 for a parking violation. FML

Parking tickets don't cost that much at all! Try and find a way to get your money back without her noticing?

It doesn't matter who saved it, OP or her parents. Fact is they've given it to her, so she counted on it. My parents always told me that you can't take something back that you've given to someone. So it's ****** up that OP's parents dare to steal the money from OP.

35.00 sounds right... maybe she needs to learn about decimals

Don't let her walk all over you; get your money back. What she is doing is illegal, you know. I do hope that you guy's relationship gets better.

To be fair, "your" college fund is actually HER money that she's nice enough to GIVE to you, and you're whining that she's giving (remember, GIVING) you less than before? She should take it all and kick your ungrateful ass out to the curb. It's none of your business why she took it, it ain't yours in the first place!

You do realize that SHE took the money to pay a parking ticket that she got and how COLLEGE IS SO EXPENSIVE THESE DAYS? It's also OP's money for her god damn future, not just the mother's money. Mommy is just being a selfish **** stealing money to pay for her own mistakes.

Yes it is hers. It doesn't matter if OP's mother saved it for her. By saying it's her college fund she explicitly told OP is the owner, that makes it stealing. So don't go whining about being ungrateful. I'm grateful for every penny my parents spend on me, but if they took away my college fund they'd be dead to me.

Where did it ever say who put the money in? And even if the mom did put most if it in it was already given to op. and no matter how you look at it its an fml to find out you don't have money you thought you did. And having a successful educated child on the line rather than yet another ignorant waste of space it was incredibly selfish and irresponsible of the mom to use that money to basically just cover her own ass and to then also lie about it.

Was probably your parents money to begin with so really can't say I feel sorry for you
