See you soon

Today, I went to meet a potential client at Starbucks all the way across town about designing his website. I was extremely excited because I really need the work. I sat for an hour. Turns out he was across the street, at the other Starbucks. FML

You can't find the right store and you're the only person in the world to spell Starbucks in camel caps. I'm sure your potential client is impressed with your abilities and attention to detail. That was SarCasm.

Why didn't one of you call the other? You are either both morons, or one of you doesn't have a cell phone. You: "Hey, I'm at Starbucks... where are you?" Client: "I'm at Starbucks too." You: "Oh, you must be at the other one." Problem solved. I'm pretty sure you both have cell phones. Even people in third world countries have cell phones now.

wow that sucks on an unrelated note, this is really entertaining: http://damnyouwoman.com/emo-chicks/2/?id=qn9r25ke

YDI for meeting at Starbucks. Support the locals! [/hippieargument]

Screw the locals. Starbucks is popular because people like it. For instance, I absolutely abhor coffee, but I like a nice mocha frappucino. Find me a local coffee shop that can make me a decent frappucino and I'll patronize it. I haven't found a comparable one yet.

YDI. Why did you not check the other starbucks?

He probably was meeting another person to do the designs. One who wasn`t stupid enough sit in a starbucks for an hour without realizing no one showed up.

The solution is simple - sue Starbucks. :P

Seriously, it's Starbucks not StarBucks. Dumbass. Who would want to meet with someone who can't even capitilize Starbucks correctly?

It's an honest mistake, but YDI anyway (you should've known the specifics). Of course, you didn't say whether you lost the client or not. If not, why the hell is this on FML?

I think he meant the Starbucks across the street from his house, which was much nearer. Otherwise, there wasn't much point in writing that he drove all the way across town.

No, he meant what he said. There were 2 Starbucks across the street from each other. Likely kitty-corner at a major intersection. Such is the American Way. *eyeroll*

Actually, I know the place in Houston that Lewis Black referred to in his book. My mom and I went to his book-signing a few blocks from that spot. While we were standing in line, we heard the story of how it happened. The guy who owned the first one saw a spot open up in the strip center across the street. (He really wanted to build in that center in the first place.) He built the second with the intention of closing the first when the new one was up and running. After the second was finished he noticed that both continued to do great business so he kept them both open.
