Self report

Today, I snuck out of my house in the middle of the night. I ran into my dad carrying wine into another house. I didn't assume he was cheating until he saw me and said, "I won't tell if you don't tell, please don't tell your mother." FML

I agree blackmail him and tell your mom use a the blackmail as evidence : such as him buying you new things that are expensive then show to your mom but stick to her side because that will be a though time. hope things work out.

I've actually been in that situation before. I blackmailed my dad into telling my mom himself. I promise you, it will make you feel so much better in the long run if you confront him about all this. Don't let it build up inside.

Are you sure he was cheating? May be he was taking wine for a secret party or something... and his saying "I won't tell if you don't tell, please don't tell your mother" doesn't imply he was cheating.

Maybe he is just an alcholic. :]

Dude be careful. You snuck out so you're probably young but not too young (I'm gonna guess 15-17). Be careful because telling your mom will most likely end in divorce which there's a good chance that will wreck you mentally. Try getting your dad to stop

Tell your mom. Because first of all that is a sin & that is just WRONG. What if he brings a STD or AIDS what if he gives that to your mom. & she dies all because you dint say anything to her. Honestly who cares they wont even be worried about you sneaking out they will be to busy disscusing what happend & so on between them to.

Internet advise is just that... So here's my two cents. (definitely FYL btw.) Your mom really needs to hear this from your dad. Having him tell her would be best, but if not you will need to tell her. (and strong arming /blackmailing him into telling her isn't a bad idea persay...) If you don't, you will likely mess up your relationship with her b/c in her eyes, keeping this secret makes you culpable to the act. That will take a lot longer to forgive than just sneaking out at night. Plus if you are more worried about sneaking out at night than a fairly important relationship incident, then you'll come off as a dumb little kid to her. Which won't help matters.
