Today, I parked downtown for a few minutes to pick up a pizza. As I was getting out of my car, a sketchy guy came up and asked me for $5. I told him to get lost and walked away. I walked back to the lot with my pizza and my car was gone. The sketchy guy was a parking attendant. He had my car towed. FML

Today, my boss reported to the police that a suspicious car has been parked outside the store late at night. I walked outside and my car was gone. He had my car towed. FML

Today, I went to pick up my car from where I parked it last night. I walked over to my parking spot only to find a vegetable stand there in its place. Apparently, that's the location of the Saturday Market and they had my car towed. FML

Today, I was walking to my car from my workplace. When I was about 20 feet from my car, a guy who was clearly on drugs yelled at me and stole my keys and car. Right before leaving the parking lot, he hit a stop sign and then yelled that my car was broken and ran off. FML

Today, I went to lunch with a friend in her car. I told her to park in a lot that had signs warning that we'd be towed, saying, "They never tow anyone from here. In fact, if you get towed, I'll pay for it." When we returned, her car was gone. I had to pay $145 in cash to get it back. FML

Today, I couldn't find my car in a mall parking lot. After 30 minutes of searching, I reported it stolen to the mall security. It turns out that I'd parked it on the opposite side of the mall. Security escorted me to my car, all while giving me pitiful looks. FML

Today, I came outside to leave for work. To my shock and horror my car was gone. My asshole neighbor, who has parked in my spot multiple times decided to let her noisy guests park in my parking spot, so I parked in hers. She had my car towed. FML

Today, I was parking my car outside of my apartment, but the big truck next to the spot went over the line. I squeezed in anyway. Later, I discovered the truck had left and someone keyed my car. They left a note saying, "Good parking job, asshole." FML

Today, we paid to park in a lot in the city. Hours later, we returned to find our car booted. Apparently the guy that took our money didn't work there. We're stuck three states away from home. FML

Today, I borrowed a roommate's car to get groceries. I came out to find the car stolen. I called the cops, and the responding officer took the info and drove me home to give the roomie the bad news in person. 15 minutes later, they found the car. I'd parked it on the opposite side of the lot. FML

Today, I walked to work. I later discovered that my husband had parked my car in a no-parking area. My job is towing cars. I had to tow my own car. FML

Seems kinda weird... a "Sketchy" guy would ASK for $5? You'd think they'd explain first and then tell you the price - if any. I would've thought it'd be up to the customer to leave some sort of tip for parking attendance... ... HMM.

Dear OP & poopooface: parking lot attendants are always sketchy. That's why they work there. It's like you expect the people who pump your gas to be in tuxedos, too. Oh well, now you know!

I feel you man. One time me and my girl went downtown and parked in the same lot we always park in. This time we saw 2 black dudes in the lot saying they were taking money to park there. We said whatever and went on our way. They had our car towed. I would have given the men money if they had identified who they were with, but they did not have official looking clothes on, just baggy pants and big t-shirts, and never said who they were with. It was total b.s.

Did you not know you were parking is a place you had to pay? He probably would have told you that you he was the parking attendant if you hadn't been so rude. Even if you didn't know he was a parking attendant, no need to be rude.

I've definitely been to parking garages where the attendants don't identify themselves. How were you supposed to know? And he probably had you towed because he was pissed that you blew him off, cars don't usually get towed THAT quickly. I'd be talking to someone about this incident.
