Smoke 'em while you can

By OuttaNowhere81 - 15/05/2009 04:05 - United States

Today, I was smoking a cigarette in my backyard while my parents were out, because I'm not allowed to smoke. While smoking, my parents came home unexpectedly. In a rush, I flicked it over the fence, and it landed in my neighbor's hair. It was still lit. FML

That's what you get for smoking, nitwit. I hope you at least apologized to your poor neighbor.

YDI. I don't care if people smoke or not, just be responsible.

125, I typed the wrong number, I "attacked" the poster before 102, which had directed his post to me. Sorry for the inconvenience. 127. People DO tend to have barbecues outside, so if you walked by, it would affect you. Stop bitching, people aren't allowed to smoke in public anyway. If one is outside, the smoke isn't as concentrated as inside because it is blown away. The only way an outdoor smoker would affect you is if they breathed it right in your face, which at this point is what I think you deserve. Haven't you ever observed the properties of cigarette smoke? Usually it spreads out within 2-5 seconds after you exhale, dipshit.

#125, You claim that smoking is "freakin expensive." My mother was talking to a Gamestop employee who also happened to be my brother's friend. She mentioned something about an addiction to smoking in connection with addictions to gaming. The two of them then calculated how much a gaming addiction would cost in comparison to a cigarrette/tobacco addiction in one year. The gaming addiction came out on top by costing about $150 more per year. Gaming can be unhealthy as well, physically, emotionally, and mentally, AND it costs more. There are way more expensive habits out there. Maybe yours could be one of more expensive ones. I wouldn't know.

In case you were unaware, glockjaw, calling me a "dumb bitch" doesn't undermine my arguments. Insulting me, instead of rationally responding to my points and examples, only undermines whatever point you're trying to make. It also makes you appear insecure in that point, or too stupid to argue it logically. Speaking of logic, it is NOT based on anyone's personal opinion or morals. Logic is a well defined set of rules, following from whatever fundamental axioms are agreed upon. If, as I suspect is the case here, those axioms cannot be agreed upon, one can still follow a rational questioning of those axioms on the basis of empirical observation. Also, you can't rationally base an argument on "you've not done drugs so you can't understand" because the only alternate point of view drugs can offer is not one that corresponds to the world as humans normally perceive it and can hence not be used as a basis for an arguement which (hopefully) takes place in the real world. If drugs offer a deeper level of understanding, then by all means show it scientifically and I will happily submit myself to a chemical addiction for the sake of knowledge. Lastly, I still cannot for the life of me understand why you seem to believe I think I'm immortal because I don't smoke. The body does break down naturally, you're just speeding the process, whereas I exercise and eat well and don't do anything to speed the process. So, in all likelyhood, I will live a longer and healthier life than you will. And although a longer life doesn't at all equate to a happier life, I cannot help but think that someone who cannot just appreciate the wonders of the natural world without it needing to be made more interesting by drugs... someone like that surely can't be having a very good life. If you need drugs to reach the same level of happiness that I reach from just looking out my window, I do pity you.

Enjoy the lung cancer, guilt, and whatever punishment your parents have prepared.

"Today, I was smoking a cigarette" as soon as I saw that I clicked YDI.

#52 u said that cigaretes are easier to get than drugs....thats true for people of age but other wise drugs are amazingly easier to get. btw every one is talking about how smoking shortens ur life. when not all that long ago the everage life expectancy was way lower. the only reason people live so long now is because of medical advancements.

Ughh, boatiebanter, I think you're immoral because of this, and I'll put it in caps for ya. YOU HAVE A HOLIER THAN THOU COMPLEX WHEN IT COMES TO CIGARETTE SMOKING. That's why I think you're immoral. You bitch about people doing what they want so if you don't like freedom, I hope you don't live in the US.

Well someday you'll probably realize how stupid you were for smoking in the first place. Even though now you think it's cool. It's pretty lame if you have to hide it from your parents and if you're dumb enough to think they won't notice the smell all over you.
