Today, I went in to work and was handed a write-up for having lied about being sick in order to leave early yesterday. Apparently, a co-worker saw me leave the parking lot, then immediately pull into the shopping center next door. I was going to Walgreens for cold medicine. FML

Today, my boss called and yelled at me because he said I was "spotted" out after I called off sick. I was out getting the medicine the doctor had just prescribed me. FML

Today, my manager gave me hell for leaving the restaurant early yesterday. Guilty as charged, but only because I was rushed to the hospital after going into diabetic shock. This assmunch is convinced that I either faked it all to get off work early, or that I'd been eating our own stock. FML

Today, I was legitimately sick so I called in to work. Apparently, 4 other guys on my line called in too. My boss thought we planned it. Now we're all written up. FML

Today, I was carrying a stack of paperwork at work, when my pen rolled off and onto the floor. As soon as I bent down to pick it up, a nearby co-worker, who's always hated me, accused me of putting on a show and sexually harassing him. He actually followed up by reporting me to HR. FML

Today, I walked into work, after having given my boss a weather prediction last week, so he could decide on which day to open a new company division. I was immediately taken aside and written up for "providing false information, adversely impacting morale". FML

People are jerks. I could never work in an office and have to put up with crap like that. But at least it's not a difficult thing to explain, especially if you still have the receipt, and your co-worker will look like a douche.

if you still have the receipt, then you're in the clear. just have the box of medicine and the receipt (which has the date and time of the purchase) to show to your boss

It really depends on how reasonable the boss is if OP didn't save a receipt. And don't say OP deserves it for not saving a receipt for cold medicine. It also sucks that OP's coworkers are such nosy pricks.

I hope you fight this unfair reprimand. Just say exactly what happened. I don't think you should be required to produce a receipt. It's a logical assumption that if you left work because you felt ill, you'd stop at a pharmacy. I have a feeling that this nasty coworker is going to have this behavior come back at them in a big way before too long. This is no way to act in the workplace.

your coworker is a bitch.. just seeing drive to a effing WALGREENS should have given away that you are sick... walgreens is known for having whatever kind of medicine you want... I would demand my job back and tell them to fire the tattle tale!
