Today, I was out with my boyfriend, when he started browsing wedding rings. He found a ring, proposed to me right there in front of a crowd, and then was promptly denied a payment plan. We left without a ring. FML

Today, my boyfriend proposed with the perfect ring, restaurant, flowers, and champagne. He’s never been this well prepared for anything in his life, so he admitted that my mother planned the whole thing and forced him to propose, even though neither of us want to get married. She even bought the ring. FML

Today, my boyfriend of 4 years proposed to me. I said yes and he gave me an engagement ring. He immediately went to call his mom to tell her the happy news. After the phone call, he asked if he could return the ring because his mom needed money. FML

Lets just hope your sister is pulling your leg. But if not, I still don't agree with everyone calling the guy cheap when we don't know the whole story. ie OPs boyfriend maybe not having the money for an expensive ring. Considering proposing is supposed to be about the love that is shared, not about how much the man has in his wallet. Just sayin'

She was probably being sarcastic because she knew it would upset you. She just wanted to rain on your parade a little because she's jealous. I bet it's a legitimate real ring.
