How do you forget to PUT ON socks (or any item of clothing for that matter)? You DON'T! You might have forgotten to grab them to put on later, but you didn't simply forget to put them on. That being said, smelly feet, well feet in general are gross, leave your shoes on and have some respect for other people. Yeah he overreacted by making you sit in the back, but not by making you put your shoes back on!
