Spooky

Today, I set up a mouse trap to kill the rodent plaguing my kitchen. While lying in bed, I heard an unmistakable snap, and ran to see what I'd caught. The mouse trap was missing. I now have a large, angry, and possibly dying animal running around my house. FML

You have a pissed off rat running around and not a mouse.

Set another trap. Use peanut butter as the bait.

that will stink very bad very soon!

just another reason live traps are better. 1) you don't injure the animal, it's not hurting you so you have no reason to hurt them. yes, pests are annoying and should be removed but that doesn't mean you need to hurt it. with a live trap you can set up put some food in it and when you catch the animal you just take it and let it go at a park or something. 2) these actually work, they're little cages and once the weight trigger is set off the doors latch closed and the animal can't escape until you let it out. so then not only do you rid of whatever pest is in your house, you do it without hurting it. unless you're eating the animal or it is trying to hurt someone there is no need to harm it.

Who even uses those sort of traps anymore? Especially if you have pets. Those things are ridiculously dangerous to any creature that goes near it, not to mention that we're above killing creatures brutally when there's an obviously more humane alternative. Not to mention that you don't need to worry about things like THIS happening. So because you're too lazy to let the thing out of a live trap away from your house, YDI. God forbid you ever become the owner of any small animals since you have no problem breaking their bones.

Humane traps are far from humane, that rodent will have been born somewhere in your house, when you set it free it will starve or freeze to death both of which would be slow and painful

YDI for trying to kill an innocent animal. You don't have to kill it, its not annoying you on purpose.

how do you know? Oh, and rats, it is most likely a rat, are anything but innocent.

isn't it a possibility that maybe it's not a rat or mouse?

then go and stick your finger in a mouse trap, then say they can't break fingers.

large, not huge, large. maybe a rat or a squirrel etc.

Its probably not a rat or mouse if its powerful enough to take a mouse trap and still run around fast like it was nothing, which is all the more scary.
