Today, my 6 year-old daughter got mad at me for not buying her yet another expensive doll. I had to pull her away, and she started screaming for help. The next thing I know, another shopper puts me in a chokehold and calls for security, all while my daughter smirks. FML

Today, while shopping, my six-year-old son threw a tantrum because I wouldn't buy him a video game. I ended up having to grab his arm and leave the store. He screamed that I was kidnapping him, at which point I was socked in the face and pinned to the floor by three bystanders. FML

Today, I was teaching my 4 year-old daughter about "stranger danger" and how to deal with it. Later that day, we went out and since I didn't buy her a ice cream, she kept screaming "STRANGER DANGER!" A total stranger tackled me until the cops arrived. FML

Today, I punched an older woman in the face. I only hit her after she grabbed my 4-year-old daughter and told her to, "stop dancing like a whore!" My daughter was so terrified, she peed her pants. FML

Today, while I was shopping, I spotted a lady who had the last of an item I wanted in her cart. She went off to the dressing room, so seeing my opportunity, I went and grabbed it from her cart, and put it in mine. I hadn't noticed her bratty-ass daughter next to the cart, who then yelled, “I saw that! Mommy! Some lady's stealing from your cart!” FML

Today, I was in a shopping centre when a little girl was running up and down the aisles. She started to fall over so I put my hand out to catch her. Her mother then ran up to me and screamed about me 'touching her child' so loud that everyone could hear. FML

Today, I was at the mall, I saw a girl crying that her ice cream had fallen on the floor. Feeling generous, I bought her a new one. She threw it on the ground, laughed, and came over to her mom and told that I was bothering her, so the mom called security. FML

Today, I smacked my kid on top of the head for spinning the display rack while I was looking at greeting cards. It wasn't until he dramatically screamed and dropped to the floor wailing that I realized he wasn't my daughter. FML

Your daughter sounds like a spoiled brat who needs a pop on the butt. Was she never disciplined before? That behavior is far from acceptable, and I hope you punished her when you got home. Good job for not giving in and buying the doll though. But seriously, this "stranger danger" stuff is going too far if even the parents can't grab ahold of their own children in public without a "good Samaritan" intervening.

I'd rather have some good Samaritan grab me and take the time to get it sorted out than have that person stand by and do nothing as my kid is snatched by a real stranger.

I hope you had the guy that choked you arrested for assault. Also, your child won't behave that way if you teach her discipline (aka take her home and beat her ass. It's good for a kid every now and then.)

I have to agree (despite the negative votes you got). A choke hold can be deadly if someone is untrained. And by untrained I don't mean "Never done it until today". By untrained I mean "Someone who has never been in this type of situation before" When you're in the heat of the moment, you won't necessarily recognize when to let go. You could VERY EASILY kill someone in those types of situations.
