Today, I was on the bus, when an elderly woman stepped in. She looked too weak to stand. She looked at me with sad puppy eyes, expecting me to give up my seat for her. I felt sorry and got up. As soon as she sat down, she said, "Ha! Sucker!" FML

Today, a sweet old lady gave up her seat for me in the bus. She lectured the entire bus that seats should be given to those in need, like myself who is "heavily pregnant." I'm just fat. FML

Today, a pretty girl joined the line at the bus station. I let her skip the line and go before me so I could sit next to her. After she bought her ticket, I realized there were no more seats left on that bus. I was told to get off, and had to take the next bus, sitting next to a snoring old man. FML

Today, I offered my seat to an elderly lady on the subway. She quietly refused. Minutes later on a sharp turn, she almost fell down on two people. As I was clearly the youngest in the disability seating section, everyone on the train turned and glared at me. FML

Today, I took the bus. The old lady next to me almost fell when the driver stopped, but I managed to catch her. Five minutes later, the same thing happened to me. The old lady tried to help me, but I lost my balance and pulled her skirt down. FML

Today, while sitting in a handicapped seat on the bus, an old man angrily approached me and chewed me out in front of everyone for not leaving the seat empty for "those who actually need it." Then he stormed off the bus, stepping heavily on my broken foot. FML

Today, I took the bus to work. A sweet old lady got on after and sat next to me. Halfway there, she fell asleep, her head on my shoulder. I gently tried to wake her up before my stop. She wasn't sleeping. I let a dead woman lie on me for 30 minutes. FML

Today, I was on the bus and a woman got on with her 3 young children. I offered her my seat so they could all sit together. When I went to get off the bus, I realized I'd left my bag underneath my old seat. When I tried to get it back the woman hit me and yelled at me for trying to steal her purse. FML

Today, I was sitting on the bus to the gym. I saw that an old woman needed help to get off the bus, so I got up, and helped her off. When I had finally got her down the stairs the bus closed the doors and drove away. I was in the middle of nowhere and the bus drove away with all my things. FML

How have your parents failed so badly at teaching you etiquette? When someone older than you gets on the bus you give up your seat, done, that's it, you just do it regardless of their physical condition. The future of society is ****** because of people with your attitude.

Just because OP didn't give up their seat doesn't mean that they don't have manners. And even if they don't, who cares? Just because you're old don't expect everyone to give you everything you want on a silver platter. She probably could've stood. There probably were open seats she didn't see, and there were tons of other people who would've given up their seats. Obviously OP was the first person being nice, so I don't think there's any problem with her "attitude."

I purposefully sit a good ways back on any bus - where I am there's seats at the front designated for the elderly, disabled, etc... one comes along you're supposed to give it up. course I've 45-60 min long rides on one bus each weekday ATM and that's tough on anyone to stand for. would be easier if roads were smoother...

you guys are fucken dumbasses, the OP wasn't even complaining how he had to fucken stand up on the bus but how the old lady was rude. yes i agree, it is courtesy to offer her the seat but did he even notice her in the first place? at least he letted her sit down, better than just ignoring her so just shut the **** up. it's neither FHL or does he deserve it. by the way, that old bitch shouldn't been rude like said but i gotta admit this is kinda funny. =P
