Today, my boyfriend said he wanted to marry me. Since he doesn't know my ring size, he asked for me to find a ring that I liked, and he would buy it and propose. The only problem is that he won't spend more than 200 dollars on it. Oh, the generosity. FML

It's about the love, not the ring.

$200 is way more than you should spend on a ring anyway. YDI for valuing the ring over the love!

women wouldnt even bother looking at rings under $1000 are u kidding me

There are plenty of women who can't find a guy to marry them... and you're cribbing about a ring?

some ppl don't have money and r struggling

Most reputable jewelers carry a sort of "pedigree" for their diamonds to alleviate doubts about their origins.

he didn't have to tell her how much he can afford if she's that materialistic. OP: if he really wanted you, he shouldve worked hard to earn the money to get the engagement ring you can both agree on. besides it should be obvious how he's ready to marry you despite your expensive taste... I guess you should find a rich man op if you can't be happy with him.

YDI for not valuing a frugal boyfriend who has his financial priorities straight. He'll probably be able to save for the really important things in life. You sound like a spoiled princess. My advice: Go find a rich douchebag, marry him, divorce him and take half his money in the process and I'm sure you'll be happy then.

Some people are poor. If he can't afford it, he can't afford it. I can't afford more than a 200 dollar ring if I wanted to marry my girlfriend. Of course, I'm not wanting to marry her for quite a while, so hopefully I'll be able to afford more by then. However, I'm sure my girlfriend would love a ring from me if I got it for 40 bucks at the local Wal-Mart. It's not about how much the ring costs, It's about how much it means to you.

What's it matter what the ring costs? Most likely you will probably break up and pawn it anyway.
