He didn't break up with her, he cheated on her, which is much worse. I'm sorry OP, cheating is always the cheater's fault, and your granny should have been a little more sensitive to your feelings.

If she gained a few pounds it was probably a tiny bit her fault, her boyfriend is a douche but she didn't take care of herself and found someone that probably did. Does that justify the boyfriend's dick attitude? No. Probably a two way story.

Your gram didn't mean to mean to lower your self-esteem. She just spoke as she was thought in her time, where a man was never to blame for cheating. Ps: cheater once cheater for EVeR, ex the boyfriend or this would be a regular thing
