The language of love

By Paicked - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - Australia

Today, my boyfriend told me he loves me. Instead of saying it back, I had a panic attack. FML

Generally you say it back, sometimes sex ensues after being told that, occasionally a slap in the face is the response, even the occasional DVO or a mixture of the four. However, each relationship is unique and everyone reciprocates in their own way; good for you OP! ;)

I submitted this in late May/early June last year, before I even had an account here. Didn't actually expect it to ever get published. To clarify, when he told me he loved me, we had only been dating for three weeks and we'd only known each other for five weeks. He was very understanding about the panic attack and my inability to say 'I love you' back at that stage. He told me he'd wait until I was ready. Unfortunately, the longer I made him wait, the more I realised I wasn't ever going to be able to say it back. I didn't think it was fair to keep him in a relationship with someone who didn't feel the same way so I eventually broke up with him. Since then he's started dating another girl; by all accounts they're both happily in love with each other. And yes, I know there's a typo in the username. :)

Maybe if you guys showed us more affection than looking at our boobs and butts we wouldn't be so surprised.... This isn't aimed at you, I don't even know you :)

I'm sorry sweetie :( this is the story of my life!

You are wierd, have a panic attack about that!

Did you say it back EVENTUALLY ? Or is he not speaking to you anymore .

dont feel bad OP, i went through the same thing. I finally managed to say it back. Once you just get the nerve up to say it, it doesnt make you panic anymore.
