As someone who experiences anxiety issues as well...that sucks. Sorry. Hopefully he can understand. Unless you were having a panic attack because you did not feel similarly, which just opens an entirely different can of worms.

I suffer from chronic anxiety, and when panic attacks happen, then can happen at any time. Usually something triggers the attack, and it barrels down from there. It doesn't necessarily mean that it was caused by the OP's boyfriend's words, just that they had one at that particular time. It is very inconvenient. Mine are always the worst from January-March, and even though simply being around my girlfriend can make me anxious, I don't believe it has anything to do with her, but the circumstance. The best thing you can do is trace the history back to something that you think might have caused it. Maybe someone, even jokingly, said something about you two splitting up, or you being trapped in a relationship. Something subconsciously stuck with you, and made you feel on edge. Then, you have to come to terms and realize what it means--and I hope your boyfriend is still supportive of you. Things like this happen, and certainly can't be stopped or controlled.
