Today, I proposed to my girlfriend of two years after eating in a 5-star restaurant. She said that she wasn't ready, and that she would walk home by herself, which she did. A homeless gentleman walked up from behind me, patted me on the back, and said, "Bitches, man." I cried. FML

Same thing different taste

Today, I took my girlfriend of nearly 2 years out to dinner so I could propose. When the waiter brought the check, I caused a bit of a scene to get everyone's attention. When I got on my knee and proposed, she said no and asked if I could hurry up and pay, because she was embarrassed. FML

Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 3 years. I got reservations for a romantic dinner, and at the end, fireworks would spell out my proposal. The whole thing had taken weeks to plan out and had cost me a lot of money. She proposed to me at a subway station first. FML

Sorry dude... It's not her fault she wasn't ready, BUT it's not YOURS either!!! So don't beat yourself up over it. Give her time and if she never comes around, then and ONLY then is she not worth it.

At least she didn't make a big scene about it. A lot of girls do that when they're proposed to in a public place. But it sounds like she doesn't want to break up, she just isn't ready for that big step. Let her think for a while, and then just be gentle with her. Just talk to her and make sure she's okay, etc.
