Today, a customer at the store I work at asked me what kind of cake I would suggest for her husband's 50th birthday. I laughed and showed her the Grim Reaper cake. She burst into tears and explained that he has cancer. FML

An Over The Hill cake would have been fine, but your store had to one up that with a Grim Reaper? Man, that sucks! At least you were doing your job well!

you know, in any other situation that would have been a good joke. you couldn't have known :/

Should offer to write "Happy Last Birthday" on there for free or something. That ought to cheer her up.

Thanks, FYLD. I needed a double dose of twisted humor today, and I had a really hard laugh at that. :]

Bitch. The OP just has a sense of humour. What's wrong with that? Ps. You look like a zombie with a retarded chin. :)

Yeah, sure she didn't know but regardless he's ******* 50 years old, that was a real heartless and bitch move on her part,YDI!!!!!!!!!

20 you're either blonde by nature, or a real hardass. people with or without cancer die at any age; 50 is the pinnacle between adulthood and "old age", if you don't know such things, don't even comment. Now walk away and go learn about human sociology or something productive

hey Tasha are u for real? can't believe u have the nerve to say something like that. didn't your parents teach u good manners????!???

Not really a sense of humour, just insensitive. A grim reaper cake, really? That is a stupid choice to recommend to anyone you don't know well.

it was a joke, they didn't know, piss off lol

My parents are 52, extremely healthy and they would've found this hilarious!! it's not like we're talking about 70 yr olds!! most people are still very healthy and young at 50. It makes me think that all those commenting that you should never give a 50 yr old a cake like that anyway, don't really know any 50 yr olds. 50 is still pretty young in terms of "elderly"!

ur so dumd lawl. But seriously, you should shut up. My parents are 56 and 53. They would laugh and get over it. The average life expectancy is around 75 or so, and the store sells those cakes for the exact purpose that the OP intended, a joke.

Perhaps the boss instructed the OP to push the grim reaper cakes.
