He is a vet. Even though it may be a ridiculous request, he put his life on the line for America. The least you can do is give him a couple cent discount if it makes him happy :)

That's ****** up dude. In reality low level enlisted members make shit pay. And for the hours worked in some of the career choices, it's really not worth it. A couple of cents may not seem like a big deal to you, but it could to someone else. The fact that this is even on fml goes to show people don't understand getting shit on daily for low pay, working a job you can't quit.

First, the guy should pull out his military ID to prove himself and then you could have asked your boss to give him the discount or not, that way you wouldn't have to be the bad guy.

FYL? Please. And what does working at an auto parts store have to do with anything? Obviously they sell Slim Jims. Just some bored lady that's bothered cause she had to interact with a customer. "FML this guy asking for a discount killed my game of candy crush" really, in what way diff this service member asking for an 8 cent discount F your life? And all the other haters out there why is everyone upset he asked if they have a military discount? Am I missing something? Did he start breaking stuff after you refused?

You realize us enlisted members about e4 and below make much less than minimum wage and sometimes that discount means everything. Sure it wasn't necessary, but it doesn't hurt to ask...
