My bet is the customer wasn't an actual military member but a certain type of military wife. Otherwise known as a "dependapotamus" .
#52, it's laughable that you think military spouses don't sacrifice anything.
It is laughable that you think that spouses sacrifice so much. I am a military spouse by the way and I know that there are many women (NOT ALL) who are a certain stereotype of a self entitled dependa that thinks the world owes them everything when it doesn't. This cheap-wad sounds like it fits that description.
@90: Maybe because this isn't funny...
Did he "Snap. . . into a Slim Jim" once you told him no discounts were available?
How much would it cost if you gave the discound?
If its a 10% discount then 36 cents or if they rounded it off 35 cents
So then whTs the big deal in giving it? Does anyone know if he was homeless? Cause I know a lot of service men and women who are and don't get any help from the state or military.
Maybe if he bought 50 of them....
I would have offered it up to thank him for his service in the armed forces (if he really is) and would have paid the $1 myself
Well OP has already stated she couldn't give discounts on such low ticket items due to store policy anyway. So you COULD give him the discount, but then you'd get fired or suspended or whatever. Over what, 6p? 6p is not a discount worth giving. So shush.
I use military discounts all the time but that's just ridiculous ಠ_ಠ
Was war declared?

You should have gave him the employee discount. Two for .78 cents.
**** no. I hope not. I believe in respecting the men and women in military, but this is bullshit.
