I'm pretty sure a frog can't survive 500° F.
From what I hear, having the heat on with a dead frog (possibly dead animal in general) in the water causes it to release some contaminant that will leave painful boils on your skin anywhere the water touches. Disclaimer, I have no idea how true this is, I just heard it from a friend who's step mom apparently had it happen to her. It makes some kind of sense though, the dead animal being a rotting corpse and all with lots of bacteria.
