Today, a McDonald's employee had to correct my math after counting out $2.37 in change. I'm in AP Calculus and am currently learning how to find the derivative of an inverse of a logarithm. FML

No big deal. Simple mistake. I have a PhD in English and misstype/spell words weekly. That doesn't mean I'm any less intelligent.

Who the **** you think you are that someone from mcdonalds can't be smart? A lot of people work at chain restarunts to pay for school, medical bills, etc.

AP Calculus. WOW. You must be a genius. Because no one totally takes/has taken it.

But just saying he's in an AP class in America means nothing, what with our crappy school system.

The inverse of logarithms is easy. It's either got e^x, which is just d/dx e^x = e^x, or a^x, which is just d(a^x)/dx = ln a a^x. People suck at math on the internet. : /

IZ IS AN HIGH SKOOLER IN ZHE AP CALUSKUS! I IZ A GENUS! ME GO TO MICK DOUGHNUTS AND LOWLY CASHER CORECT ME MATH! BUT IZ IS GENUS! ME NO MAEK MISTEAKS! IZ IMPOSIBLE! That aside the kid deserves it only because he is an arrogant prick who probably (this is an assumption) never had to get a part time job or do actual work during his time in high school. If he had he would have realized that *gasp* people who work minimum wage jobs go to high school too! Shocker! But not only that... some of them may even have go, have gone, or completed and moved on from college! Gasp so-shocking-I-just-had-a-heart attack. That said whoopdeefreaking do you are in AP Calc. Give me a call when you start doing Discrete Math, Differential equations, or some serious programming and not memorizing pretty much a simplistic formula. Actually even if you did do that I would still have to ask you to stop being a snob, a douche, and/or completely naive to the world around you.

Why is it that as soon as people join AP Calculus, they assume they automatically know all there is to know about math?

YDI - I worked at McDonalds for 9 years and have my college degree in Architecture. I worked there through high school, college and while working my full-time job. So just cause someone works at McDonalds doesn't mean they're dumb.

just because someone works in fast food it doesn't make em stupid!!!

Everyone makes mistakes. Do you think you're above making mistakes just because you're taking calc?

dude you DO realize that in order to finish high school, most likely he'd have taken calculus, regardless of whether or not he works at McDonalds. Plus its probably just a day job, for all you know he could be a poor ivy league student.

I don't know where the hell you go to school, but the highest math any state that I know of requires is basic pre-cal/trig.

I worked at McDonald's and I've completed the standard Calculus progression (1,2,3,4) and I am now taking advanced math topics. :/
