Today, after a long, horrible day at work and some fighting with my family and my girlfriend, I decided to cheer myself up by going to McDonald's for a change. I burst into tears when the cashier told me they couldn't make me a Mars McFlurry because they'd run out of ingredients. FML

I feel worse about the fact that you go to the Mac Donalds to cheer yourself up than the fact that you broke down crying there.

FYI it's McDonald's, not Mac Donald's. Curdles me inside when people spell it that way.

*For your information *it* curdles me inside when people try to correct others while using acronyms and leaving out words. Oh yeah... Mac Donald's.

CremeEggs 6

You don't like acronyms? Acronyms all over the place. Best to remove you account so you don't have to see them here again. Also, it* was intentionally left out as I felt it was not needed.

#48, How would you feel if I called you Silent_Trill instead of Silent_Thrill just because I felt like it? If you don't like it, spell the name of the company correctly please. Mac and Mc are not quite the same thing. Same shout goes to #14.

Yeah 14 and 48. You seem to have offended every Scotsman on here. I am American and I could care less if you call it Mac Donalds or McDonalds. it's a made up name anyway.

Silent_Thrill 17

#71- It would not bother me. Thanks for asking.

#73, what exactly is a "made-up name"? Just curious.

Referring to the fact that Ray Crock wanted a name that sounded thrifty so he chose McDonalds. However if you are refering to the fact that there is no hyphen between made and up, oh well.

dontpanic_fml 32

No no, I definitely wasn't referring to that. That would be pathetic. However, that's not "made up" any more than any other name. It's a name, same as any other. I do get irritated when people misspell it.

Okay If any of you haven't noticed some people just aren't as smart as others or maybe just don't go to McDonalds as much as you so they don't know. Also, depending on what your using to be on this website your auto correct separates it and puts it as Mac Donalds. So take a chill pill and get off their case.

Hereby I apologize for all those whom insides I curdled and to all the Scottish and Irish I offended. like 135 said, I don't go to the McDonalds all that often, but thank you for enlightening me in the world of writing the names of fastfood chains!

dontpanic_fml 32

I never go to McDonalds. But you are forgiven. ;)

135 I checked auto correct and it does not change it.

I just want to point out that OP used the correct spelling, so there isn't much of an excuse. But your apology is accepted... This time =P On a semi contradicting note: I don't mind when it's shortened to Macca's. In fact, here in the land of Oz, McDonald's have changed some of their golden arch signage to actually say Macca's. I believe it's mostly McOpCo (non franchise stores) as I believe it doesn't cost the store anything to have it changed. This is mostly due to Australia Day which is coming up next weekend.

Sounds like the guy whose girlfriend saw him crying on the bathroom floor with ice cream. Just keep optimistic, things get better eventually :)

Just this guy didn't guess his ice cream. :( Chin up OP! You sound like you just need a hug!

How did the cashier handle the situation? Tissues for free?

They better have given you a smile for free at least, as promised!

They're lying. They just think you are too fat. Even McDonald's has its limits.

Mmmm depression induced junk food binge. How about and apple and a run to decompress instead?

Exercise is not how everyone relaxes. I know that a lot of people do, and that it releases endorphins and everything. But I like getting cozy when I want to get rid of stress.

onorexveritas 23

you go to McD's to feel better?

It's called comfort food. You know, like in the movies where the girl gets dumped so she eats a ton of ice cream.

Shadow_Phantom 26

I know how that feels, OP. It all bottles up inside and then you just get to that one breaking point, no matter how trivial, where your emotions just explode. FYL, man.

Never think things can't get any worse. Just when you do, BAM! No McFlurry for you, which means things just got worse.

perdix 29

This is what alcohol is for. Sure, they may run out of the ingredients for foo-foo drinks, but they'll always have plenty of the hard stuff that'll fix your problems.

tmx90 5

Maybe he was going to put some hard stuff in his McFlurry.

I was reading this thinking "you don't need a mcflurry mate you need a cup of man the hell up" but yea whiskey will do the same job...
