Today, I was teaching and a boy sitting in front kept laughing and smiling, even after I asked him to cut it out. I got so annoyed that I jokingly said I'd knock his teeth out, and asked him to leave the class. The kid went to the principal and told him I intended to hurt him. I'm a college professor. FML

Today, I took my kids to visit their grandma. At one point while playing, my youngest said "Shit!", so I admonished her. My mom snorted and told me to "stop being such a little bitch", because it will make my kids into "lame prisses like their mother." FML

It seems the idiot teacher made the kids advocate for his own political beliefs in a presentation, and my son ended his speech saying, "And it remains my opinion that our instructor is cramping my motherfucking style." I teach my kids respect but that has almost nothing to do with whining. Kids whine. When they do, I discipline them. If you can't deal with it, you probably shouldn't be a teacher. That is what the lounge is for.

I can't bring myself to click FYL or YDI. It's tough being a teacher right now. I am one as well. Though you should have enough self-control to keep your mouth shut, frankly, some kids ARE bitchy/bitches and they may need it pointed out to them! I know my mom called me a bitch when I was in high school, and her mom did the same to her. It actually does shock your system a bit, to hear an adult use such an adult, negative word to describe you. Parents are too nice now! But, as teachers, we CAN'T DO THAT and we really shouldn't try! That said...I hope you found the kid and apologized before the school day ended. That was really your best chance of having this blow over. If the kid really is a whiner, she's running right home to the superintendent and telling on you. Though I actually doubt this will cost you your job, I hope this will help you learn to control yourself from now on. Maybe some therapy would be good, so you could learn some alternative coping techniques.
