Please learn your dictionary people, being attracted to a 17 year old is NOT being a pedophile, I guarantee you every guy here has seen a girl and thought damn she's freaking hot, then found out later she was 17. If this guy is over 20 then yes it is a bit creepy he is actually trying to date a 17 year old though, but what if she was turning 18 in a week from his visit? Then would it be creepy or that week magically makes it ok? Bunch of ******* hypocrites. Pedophile - an adult who is sexually attracted to young children. 17 is not a young child, 17 is a young adult, get off your self righteous high horses. 17 is legal in many states.
YDI for meeting people online and being a pedophile. well..im not sure if you're a pedo but you YDI anyway :P
Woohoo #84!
There's nothing wrong with online dating. For all you hostile people who are against online dating, I just want to say it can turn out FANTASTIC. I met my boyfriend online and we're very compatible and going on our 3rd anniversary soon, that's better than a lot of people who use tranditional dating means if you ask me! That being said, don't go all in unless you REALLY know who that person is! It worked out for my boyfriend and I because we weren't dumb enough to assume anything! I joked that he was probably a registered sex offender, and he said I was most likely a transvestite. We were both relieved when we first talked on the phone ("hey you're really a guy/girl and you sound like the age you said you are!") and then when we met up ("you're REAL!"). We both had an "emergency plan" worked out with our perspective GROUP of friends in case things get out of control...so...as long as you are cautious, I don't see anything bad with online dating at all. So yeah...I guess at least you learned your lesson?

Haven't you read enough FMLs to know that you shouldn't date online?
