Today, after discovering that our son is already sexually active, I asked my husband to have a talk with him. "Remember, son, it's all about the clit", wasn't what I had in mind. FML

Why do parents seem proud their son is having sex, but mortified if their daughter is?

The double standards of humans would be my best guess.

A son with a kid too young just had to pay, a daughter with a kid too young has a life to provide for. Thus the double standard.

If you don't like the way your husband spoke with him, why don't you do it yourself? Parents need to BOTH be involved in their children's life to have the best impact

That's about the same sex talk my father had with me. Except he told me to "make sure she swallows it and you don't have to worry about anything."

Maybe she thinks it would be more comfortable to have the talk with his father? I didnt want to have the sex talk with my dad because I was more comfortable discussing it with a same gender person.

Why is everyone freaking out about the mom not talking to him along with the dad? Maybe she feels that her son would feel more comfortable with just the dad doing the explaining. When my mom sat me down and told me about sex and periods and the possible issues I know my dad would have turned green hearing about how his daughters va-jay-jay is going to be bleeding out for seven days and about yeast infections and any other assorted womanly body functions. Don't be so hard on OP.
